Update on the twins - 32 weeks
We keep hoping that we will get good ultrasound pictures of the girls that we could share, but haven't lucked out with any yet. This picture was taken at 31 weeks (last week). We had a very encouraging report on the babies yesterday. Twin "A" is 4 lb 2oz. and twin "B" is 3 lb 12oz. They are both head down at the moment and we are getting to the point that they are likely to stay in that position for delivery.Yay! During the ultrasound we saw the girls with their heads together....very cute. I think that it is pretty cramped accomodations in there, so I hope that they are being good to each other in finding space! Seeing them on ultrasound helps to make sense of the movement that I am feeling. The doctors always ask if I can feel them both moving and I find it difficult to know who is doing what. They both occupy a side, but we are learning that they don't always stay on their side. ;)
All of the possible complications that go along with twin pregnancy have not been an issue with this pregnancy so far, which we are very thankful for.
I think a lot of it has to do with the help that we have been recieving from our parents. I don't think that it would be possible to get a rest daily, keep up with the household chores and give love and attention to Fin and Will without their help. We are so blessed to have willing and able parents to help us during this unique time in our lives.
The boys are very excited about the arrival of their sisters. Fin often asks to feel them kicking and Will can't wait to hold them, as he is really "into" babies these days. We hope that they are still excited when they are actually here, crying and occupying much of our attention.
Our winter in New Hampshire has been amazing so far. We have had a few snow storms and an incredible amount of snow. As much as we have been enjoying the winter weather we are hoping that when the time comes for the" big event," there doesn't happen to be one of these big snow storms.
Apparently the average time for delivery for twins is at 36 weeks. We would love to make it that far and even to 38 weeks if we could. We continue to hope and pray that the next 6 weeks will go well. Maybe at my last ultrasound in three weeks, we will finally get good pictures of the girls. Either way, we will be anxiously awaiting their arrivial to see their beautiful little faces.
