Thanksgiving Weekend 2010

This year for Thanksgiving Scott, Denise, Madison and Kennedy came for a visit. We spent some time touring Dartmouth campus and Madison and Kennedy each got some Dartmouth wear at the Dartmouth Co-op (school store). On Sunday we went to a pumpkin festival in Thetford Vermont. It may be hard to see in the pictures, but the pumpkin patch was right beside the Connecticut River....really beautiful. We indulged in some good food there and brought home some pretty big pumpkins to carve. It was really nice having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner together followed by a very competitive game of pictionary that we played on our chalk board wall in the playroom. The boys, and Kevin and I, really enjoyed having them here for a visit.

Quechee Gorge Village in Vermont

While Bamma and Papa were here we went to Quechee Gorge Village for a morning of fun. There was a train ride for the kids, a toy museum with both old and new toys and a miniature village with an operating train running through it. We got to sample all kinds of
cheese at Cabot and then had lunch at a diner and homemade ice cream next door. It was a lot of fun on a beautiful fall day.

The Appalachian Trail

Not long after we moved here we learned that the A. T. was a 5 minute drive from our house, so we decided to hike a small portion of it last Saturday. Fin lead most of the way by looking for the white rectangles on the trees. Will got tired pretty early, so Daddy ended up carrying him. Actually, daddy ended up carrying both of them at one point! Tazzy loved exploring in the woods and along the trail. It was a beautiful morning.

Oh Deer!

These two fawns showed up as we were eating supper tonight.
Tazzy, of course, alerted us to their presence!

First campfire in our backyard

Smores.

Once Kevin started to play the guitar and sing
we noticed that we had some spectators. A couple
of deer decided to come closer to enjoy the show.
